CPD (Continuous Professional Development) training for criminal barristers and solicitors
Forensic Access is pleased to offer solicitors and barristers training, accredited for CPD points by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Bar Standards Board
Forensic Access has been supporting the Criminal Justice System since 1986 – offering independent forensic science services from our highly skilled and experienced team of forensic scientists.
We are now pleased to offer CPD accredited training, delivered by some of the top forensic scientists in the country.
Forensic Access is fully accredited by both the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Bar Standards Board to provide CPD points for our training/presentations.
Using our highly experienced criminal defence forensic specialists we have prepared a number of presentations on forensic awareness and how to examine and challenge the prosecution’s forensic evidence, for a number of evidence types.
Our forensic science CPD training
As of August 2010 we can offer the following training sessions. Each of the sessions attracts 1.5 CPD points (but we can run two together for a total of 3.0 points):
- Examining And Challenging DNA Evidence
- Blood Pattern Analysis: Offender, Bystander or Good Samaritan?
- Firearms
- Fingerprints and Footwear Marks
- Paint & Glass
- Srutinising Forensic Services
(an in-depth look at the significant changes to prosecution forensic science provision and new aspects for the defence to consider)
We are also looking to prepare a CPD accredited presentation on the forensic use of textile fibres.
Presentation & speakers notes
Each presentation takes between 45 minutes and 1 hour and we normally allow approximately 30 minutes for questions. We deliver these by PowerPoint (we can supply our own PC and projector) and provide all slides and very detailed speakers notes on either paper, CD or email (PDF) after the presentation.
Costs
Please contact Forensic Access with your requirements for CPD training. We can often provide this training free of charge; in some cases we may make a small charge.
