Claire’s forensic career began at the Forensic Science Service in 1995 when she became part of the newly opened high throughput Criminal Justice Sample Unit based in Birmingham.

Claire later transferred to London and became an integral part of the DNA department focussing on Quality, Compliance and ensuring the smooth operation of the Unit.  This, and other work developing DNA based diagnostic technologies, provided a deep understanding of the technical side of forensic DNA profiling, quality management systems and processes.

Since joining Forensic Access team in 2012, Claire was instrumental in achieving ISO/IEC 17025 and NAS accreditation in record time for the York DNA Unit and has played a vital role in ensuring the continued high quality forensic provision in all aspects of the business as well as achieving the successful implementation of ISO/IEC 17043 for the provision of proficiency testing items.

Claire continues to ensure that Forensic Access always puts Quality at its heart.
