We are looking for a Casework Administrator to join the Casework team at Forensic Access.

We are looking for a Casework Administrator to join our busy and growing Casework Team.
This is not a scientific role, but it is an exciting opportunity for the right individual to learn and
develop in a role at the centre of the forensic process.

As a Casework Administrator, you will manage forensic report requests from start to finish,
acting as the key link between legal professionals, forensic and medical expert witnesses, and
internal teams to ensure court-ready reports are delivered accurately, securely and on time.

Forensic Access – part of Analytical Expert Labs - is one of the UK’s leading forensic service
providers, supporting criminal defence cases across England and Wales. Our work operates
within a highly regulated, confidential environment, where accuracy, organisation and
professional judgement are essential.

The Role

As a Casework Administrator, you will take ownership of new forensic enquiries and coordinate
the entire case lifecycle. This includes:

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for solicitors and legal professionals requesting
    forensic reports for court
  • Identifying and instructing suitable forensic and medical expert witnesses from our
    national expert network
  • Preparing and issuing quotes, and confirming instructions
  • Gathering, organising and securely managing case material and information required by
    experts
  • Project managing each case, ensuring deadlines, court timetables and client
    expectations are met
  • Reviewing expert reports for completeness, quality and compliance with required
    standards
  • Maintaining accurate case records using CRM and case management systems

You will work closely with a wide range of specialists, including biologists, fingerprint experts,
psychiatrists and medical experts, gaining exposure to multiple forensic disciplines while
developing strong customer service, coordination and case management skills.
This role would suit a recent graduate or early-career professional with customer service
experience, strong organisational skills and a genuine interest in working in a professional,
regulated environment.

Security Clearance

Due to the highly sensitive nature of forensic casework:

  • Security clearance is required
  • Applicants must have five years’ continuous UK residency
  • Criminal convictions may prevent clearance from being granted
Key Requirements:
  • Experience in a customer service or client-facing role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases under pressure
  • Ability to prioritise workload while working collaboratively as part of a team
  • Confidence communicating with legal professionals, expert witnesses and colleagues
  • Competent use of Microsoft Office and CRM or database systems
  • A clear understanding of the importance of confidentiality and data security
  • Experience in a legal, police or regulated professional environment is desirable but not
    essential
Skills and Personal Attributes:
  • High attention to detail, integrity and professionalism
  • Resilience and flexibility when working to strict deadlines
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks and see them through to resolution
  • Proactive and willing to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organisational skills and accuracy in handling information
  • Ability to deal sensitively with information that may be distressing, graphic or upsetting,
including material relating to violence or sexual offences

All employees must ensure that high quality standards are maintained and help drive
continuous improvement. They must also abide by the Forensic Regulator’s Codes of
Practice and Conduct and the Forensic Access Code of Conduct.
