Whilst the role of the Home Office Registered Pathologist is normally associated with establishing the cause of death, their expertise also extends to commentary upon the nature of causation of injuries in the living.
In addition to suspicious deaths, the Forensic Pathologist can, therefore, assist in a wide variety of cases including assaults, sexual offences, child cruelty and domestic abuse.
Pathologists are typically involved in cases where there is a requirement to establish how an injury was caused, what instrument or object has caused the injury and perhaps assessing the age of a wound.
Forensic Access work with some of the most experienced Home Office Registered Pathologists and offer a full injury causation service.
