We have moved our fantastic Forensic Awareness Seminar series online!
You are invited to attend our online webinar where our experts will provide a valuable insight into Animal Forensics: Veterinary evidence in welfare and abuse cases and the link between animal and human abuse.
Forensic Access provides a comprehensive range of forensic services and consultancy covering all scientific disciplines, including a dedicated Animal Forensics division. In this unique joint presentation delivered by a veterinary surgeon and a forensic scientist, we will discuss how animal evidence can be applied to Defence and Prosecution investigations, involving animals and humans alike.
As almost half of all households own a pet, the evidential potential of the animal, and its surroundings, represents a significant but under-utilised source of material. Alongside acting as ‘silent witnesses’ animals may be used as weapons (both physically and emotionally) and they are gaining recognition as victims in their own right. With recent announcements to reclassify the offence to either way and increase sentences to 5 years in cases of animal cruelty, this timely Seminar will raise the awareness of the increase of these case types and the link between animal and human abuse.
