Firearms: Aiming for Precision in Forensic Science

June 25 2026, 18:00 BST

You are invited to attend our free CPD accredited webinar exploring the examination, classification and interpretation of firearms and firearm-related evidence.

Led by Edward Wallace, Head of Firearms at Forensic Access, this session will provide practical insight into how firearms experts examine weapons, ammunition components and toolmarks, and how their findings may assist investigators, legal teams and the courts.

Edward has over 27 years’ experience as a Firearm and Toolmark Examiner and has given evidence in more than 200 trials across different levels of the legal system.

The webinar will cover key areas including:

  • Legal classification of firearms and related items
  • The examination of firearms, ammunition, cartridge cases and bullets
  • How microscopic comparison is used in firearm and toolmark identification
  • The evidential value of “no gun” cases
  • How firearm evidence can support or challenge case strategy
  • Emerging issues, including 3D printed firearms and modified weapons

This webinar is open to all attendees, and may be particularly useful for legal professionals, investigators, students and anyone with an interest in forensic science or firearms evidence.

Upon completion of this webinar, please contact us at info@forensic-access.co.uk for your CPD certificate. Please note: Due to high demand, we are only able to issue CPD certificates to UK residents. We welcome international participants to join our sessions, but certificates cannot be provided outside the UK.
