Forensic Access’ Biggest and Best Home So Far!
As announced in the June 2008 edition of Benchmark, Forensic Access has had to move premises; we had completely outgrown our premises at Thatcham so this move was essential for our business and took place in August.
Due to the continuing growth in the number of cases we are being instructed to undertake, the ever increasing complexity of forensic science, the number of scientists and support staff at Forensic Access, and considering our future growth, we took our time in determining what we wanted from our new home.
 The result is very impressive, as those of you that have visited have commented. We are now situated in a secure, detached building surrounded by delightful Oxfordshire countryside. By obtaining a completely blank canvas, we have been able to design a fit for purpose facility with spacious new offices and four brand new, DNA-controlled laboratories, which we have commissioned from beginning to end, and of which we are extremely proud.
Within these labs our scientists can undertake a very broad range of examinations, searching for biological material and other trace evidence in new cases and case reviews. We also have the facilities for staging reconstructions and for chemical enhancement.
 Kitted out in designer scrubs and full protective clothing, our scientists will be working in the most up to date forensic laboratories.
Having labs of such high specification is a first for Forensic Access that will enable us to expand the type of cases we undertake and give us the opportunity to carry out examinations for both the defence and the prosecution within our own controlled environment.
