Malcolm Watson joined Forensic Access as a forensic scientific consultant in 2004.
Malcolm was employed within the Home Office Forensic Science Service from 1965 until 2004. He progressed to Head of Toxicology and Drugs and Alcohol Analysis at the Wetherby Laboratory in 1988. Then, upon the regionalisation of toxicology and alcohol analysis to the Chorley Laboratory in 1990, he remained as the Head of the Drugs Section at Wetherby, until 1993. He also took charge of the Drugs Quality Improvement Team between 1989 and 1992. In addition, from 1990 – 1992 he acted as Consultant to the United Nations in the UNDCP (United Nations Drug Control Programme) Caribbean Laboratories Project and during the early 1990’s he also acted as locum Government Analyst for Bermuda, being responsible for the forensic laboratory at this time. Malcolm’s further international experience has included the giving of evidence in Court in Thailand and the examination of evidential material in Kenya.
