Keith Chamberlain

Mr Chamberlain is retired detective police officer, having served 33 years. His career in the Police Service has predominately been in the investigation and management of crime, spanning all ranks up to and including Assistant Chief Constable. 

His area of expertise is as a Senior Investigating Officer and has undertaken many complex criminal investigations of murder, attempted murder and fraud investigations involving planning contracts implicating Local Government Officials and County Councillors.  He is experienced in managing murder investigations and has a good knowledge of managing investigations using the HOLMES system.

During has police service he reviewed murder investigations in West Yorkshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Norfolk and the Metropolitan Police area, making recommendations to Chief Officers and ACPO Crime Committee.

Following his retirement from Cambridgeshire Constabulary in 2000 he was recruited by the Metropolitan Police to the newly formed Murder Review Group as a Senior Investigator .He carried out this role for three years which involved reviewing unsolved [cold cases] murders in the London area from 1988-99 for new investigative opportunities, with particular emphasis on new forensic advances with DNA technology.

In April 2003 he was asked by the Foreign Office to investigate Government corruption in the British Virgin Islands and whilst in the Caribbean reviewed a number of unsolved murders with particular emphasis on new advances in forensic techniques.

On his return from the Caribbean in 2005 until the present time he has been part of an assessment team employed by the Rosemary Nelson Enquiry. The team has carried out a complete assessment in to the death of Rosemary Nelson [a solicitor] who was murdered when a bomb exploded underneath her car in March 1999. In this role he took the lead in the scene, forensic issues, victimology, intelligence and suspects.
